Sarah moved through her labor with so much patience and strength. It was long and exhausting, but even after several hours you would not have guessed what she had been through by her calm and determined expression. After we used all the strategies and tools at Our Community Birth Center, a few times over, Sarah gracefully accepted the tools available at the hospital and the thoughtful care of McKenzie Midwives. When we arrived at the hospital her unwavering strength continued as she walked down multiple long hallways at 8 cm dilation until arriving to her birth room. Sometimes an epidural and a little pitocin are the next step to a healthy vaginal birth, which was the case for Sarah’s labor. Sarah and Gary proudly welcomed adorable baby Wesley a handful of hours later!
At one of her postpartum homevisits Sarah told us her family and friends had been asking her, “Would you try and do it naturally at the birth center again?” We were not at all surprised to hear her answer with a bold, “Yes of course I would!”
We had the pleasure of providing a postpartum bonding session in our birth pool for Sarah and Wesley. Thank you Desirea Still Photography for donating time and skill to do photos for the session. If you’re interested in booking a pregnancy or postpartum session in our pool look for the link in the comments.
